Overview
Bob Patten is the lead architect for the FCI Insurance product and detection architect for the IBM Financial Crimes Insight product suite, which builds financial crimes detection solutions using advanced analytical capabilities “baked” into Docker images; allowing financial crimes analysis at massive scale. He is currently working on Worker’s Comp and P&C automotive analytics using Scala and Spark to achieve detection in near real time. Before the FCI product line, Bob worked on the Smarter Cities team and was responsible for the IOC Standard Operating Procedure implementation. Prior to software development at IBM, Bob worked for corporate strategy around software development best practices and reuse modularity. Bob also spent years working in the GBS division of IBM, working directly with clients. Prior to IBM he worked as an independent consultant (for CrossLogic), built test tools (for SAS Institute), implemented portfolio management (for NCNB), and built a cartographic mapping system (for NC Dept of Land Resources).
